ABOUT US

At some point, you realize you’re traveling differently.

You want to stay long enough to understand a place, and to come home with something more than photographs. Nomadic Spirit is a weekly travel newsletter for readers who have reached that point, as interested in the why as the where.

Most travel media is still written for a different trip: thirty-six hours in Lisbon, ten hotels to see before you die. Travelers over 50 spend more on travel than any other generation, and the industry still underestimates them. It does even less for travelers with particular needs, solo women travelers among them. We write for them, and we argue for them.

Each issue opens with a brief essay, then looks closely at one destination worth considering when you’re deciding where to go next. We make room for the stories our readers send us, and finish with the articles, books, and videos worth your time. It’s free, and it comes once a week.

The Journey

Personal, often moving stories from Nomadic Spirit readers. First-person vantage point on the challenges and joys of traveling: a first solo trip, a cultural interaction. Authored by you.
